Rome-ing Around Florence

Near the beginning of December I was able to go to Rome and Florence.  I had the most wonderful time sitting in a pumpkin display in the market in Rome and visiting wandering down the streets of the city.

I almost bought some armor like the this but they didn't have any in my size.  I suppose there isn't much of a need for me to have armor but it seemed neat at the time.

Florence was all decorated for Christmas.  Beautiful as always.  Even the street artists had Christmas spirit- I personally enjoyed this chalk drawing.

A couple of days later I got to visit with some horses at a horse race in the city.  It was actually at a track in a giant park near where I used to live.  I had no idea there was a race track there.  This horse was nice enough to let me hang around for a few min.

Off to new adventures- I'll write more soon.

I got a Facebook page. It is a fan page so click on the Facebook link in the column next to this and be a fan of me.  Wow talk about self promotion, but think of it more as being my friend.  And you can easily keep up with what I am doing b/c my Twitter and this Blog filter into my Facebook page!  See you around!

Twisted

My short stay in Germany was only in the airport.  The airport by the way is crazy with long tunnels that my little legs got tired of walking.  Luckily I had time for a snack and ate the WHOLE pretzel- it was organic too!  Next time a beer will be good but when traveling it can be a little harsh on my tummy.  Note the photo below posted for your viewing pleasure.

A Whirlwind 2 Weeks...

Here is a cluster of photos from my two weeks this past summer in Europe.  I was able to travel to Lisbon, Portugal and a beach near by, Barcelona, Spain, and Florence Italy.  It was wonderful to be back in Europe after a year.  I had some nice times in the States as well but I do love the European culture.  Hope you enjoy the photos.  I'm on a new adventure now... living in Italy again!  I'll have more to post about that soon.

Twitter

I haven't posted on here in ages but I have been enjoying technologies advances and found that I rather like Twitter.  I'll be leaving for more adventures soon so there should be updates.  I also will be posting about my trips this summer.  Please excuse my tardiness.

A Lot Has Happened

Hello all!

I am sorry I haven't been around.  I know the previous message says I am missing but I came back!  I did have a few travels while I was away and am still waiting for those pictures to get in from people who took them.  It is hard traveling when you don't have someone to take pictures of you in front of amazing things.  But I will share the ones of my return... well more like my trip to France.  Below you will see me playing DDR (dance dance revolution) with Iron Man, me with a castle in Fontainbleau, Almost getting eaten by a Lion, with Meghan's French family, and last but not least.. Point Zero in Paris- the center of the French Universe and standing there means I will come back again someday.  I hope you all enjoy.  I have a couple pictures from the beach but someone else has those as well.  I'll be back again! ciao!

Roman Holiday and an American Weekend in Spain

I accompanied Meghan and some of her friends to Rome for the last weekend in March.  It was a wonderful two days; beautiful weather and of course wonderful places to see.  We started the journey by getting a tour bus to take us around the city.  I know it is a tourist thing to do but I am very much ok with being a tourist sometimes.  At least this way it was somewhat in style.  You can see me sitting and enjoying the view from the top of the bus.  I’m in the yellow coat.  There is also a wonderful picture of me in front of an old building.  I wish I knew what it was and if it was important, but I am sure it is important to someone and that person knows what it is.  The next photo is of me hanging out in Vatican City.  We were actually asked by some policemen in a golf cart to not sit in the piazza so after a quick picture we moved along.

The next weekend I had a very crazy journey to Madrid.  It took several types of transportation to finally get to the hotel where I was staying.  Sunday for lunch I was taken to TGIFriday’s, it isn’t my favorite place but it is good to have American food every once and a while... I suppose.  After that we went to a park by the palace in Madrid.  You’ll see a picture of me with Donna (one of Meghan’s sisters best friends.).

---I (Meghan) will be finishing this post from Bearington since soon after the picture with Donna he decided to head off on his own journey for a while.  I have a missing poster made for him since he hasn’t given me any information on when he will be back or where he went.

If anyone has seen this little guy I would love to know where he is and what he is up to.  I also hope he will be coming back to Florence soon.  Please any information would be helpful.  As soon as I have information I will have him post so you can be updated.  Maybe he is taking pictures while he is on his trip.  Until next time.. Ciao!

Things Bigger than Me

I accompanied Meghan to Milano for her birthday.  It was a pretty exciting weekend.  I hung out on the Metro quite a bit, had a snack with Erin in front of the Duomo, peopled watched and watched a rugby game on a giant screen.  Now for me giant is usually a chair for a grown up person but this was giant for a grown up person.  We are talking really big.  It was fun to see so many people get excited in a piazza over a game.

The following weekend I went to Bologna for Pasqua (Easter) as some would call it.  I ate part of Meghan’s chocolate egg.  Thanks Meghan for being gracious enough to share!  I also got to go to a modern art museum--Mambo.  I went with some mates from back home (England), they are living in Rome and were visiting for Easter as well.  Honestly, I don’t care too much for modern art but sometimes I will find a piece or two that I like.  As it turned out I didn’t even need to pay to go to the museum because on my way back to the hotel I found this piece of ‘modern art’!  Isn’t it fascinating! In Italy you aren’t to take any photos in museums.. I’m not sure why.. but since this was outside I posed with it.  It was an exciting weekend.

Florence Filled with Fun!

So I haven't been out too much, but the other day I did venture out and ride a carousel (Meghan isactually not talking to me b/c of jealousy), sat and people watched, got bit by a lion, and hungaround in a hoop for a bit. Then that evening I kicked back and had a few drinks. Life is toughhere in Florence. Yes, I did actually make it to Florence I've just not had the internet to update. My apologies.

Pictures will posted later or you can visit 'what I do' and go to the flickr page from there

Finally An Update

This first picture is of me anxiously waiting for the plane to arrive in Little Rock so that my journey through Europe can begin.

Here I am getting back to my roots and having a meat pie in London at the airport while I waited to recheck my bags.

This one is a little embarassing.. there was a 'shop' next to my hotel and someone thought it would be funny get capture a picture of me with the title.

And here I am with wonderful tasty food in Spain. Barcelona to be exact and near the market too. Wonderful city!

My favorite photo is this one of me with the Sangria... I really didn't drink all of it myself that would have been quite a lot for a small bear like me. But it does seem to have the essence of Barcelona all in one picture.

Hi from NYC

Sorry for not letting you know sooner, but I needed to get back in travel mode before Italy. Since you'll most likely be preoccupied with an un-named nutbag, I'll probably be on my own.

Yes - I stowed away to the Big Apple.

First you can see me plotting my escape from Little Rock. Next a morning excursion to the show in the south end of Times Square. Then after a busy day at the Jacob Javits Center. Then returning to Times Square (north end).

I even had to hijack your father's phone, cause I couldn't get access to the internet to use my own e-mail.

See you Wednesday,
Bearington

An Introduction

Ciao Tutti! Mi chiamo Bearington Bear. Haha, just brushing up on my Italian. I still have a lot to learn before setting off on my big journey to Italy. For those of you who don't know who I am I will share a little about myself. As I mentioned I am Bearington Bear, I am originally from Great Britain, but I have grown up in the United States. I am a little on the small side... 4 1/2 inches to the top of my ear, however, it won't stop me from traveling the world, or at least Western Europe. I will be leaving for Barcelona on 31 Jan. 2008 and staying for a couple of days then heading to Florence, Italy to spend the next 24 weeks (6 months).
While I am traveling I will be posting pictures of myself at places you all must go someday if you get the chance, and will be sharing what I have learned about each place. I am so excited about sharing my experience with all of you that I can hardly contain it. Until next time...Ciao for now!
